ADIOS boot CD is a Linux live CD based on Red Hat Linux and a 2.4 series kernel, with additional support for squashfs, LIDS, SELinux, and FreeSwan. The CD can run from RAM, USB memory stick, or use FAT/EXT files for /var, or copy/install the CD to FAT/EXT files. The user can choose from KDE, GNOME, or IceWM. The user can start User Mode Linux (UML) virtual machines, each of which can start X. Each of the virtual machines can be networked via virtual ethernet switches and hubs. ADIOS requires at least 128MB RAM to run X11.

LINUX.ORG - Linux is an operating system that was initially created as a hobby by a young student, Linus Torvalds, at the University of Helsinki in Finland. Linus had an interest in Minix, a small UNIX system, and decided to develop a system that exceeded the Minix standards. He began his work in 1991 when he released version 0.02 and worked steadily until 1994 when version 1.0 of the Linux Kernel was released. The current full-featured version is 2.4 (released January 2001) and development continues.
